Queer-affirming therapy for creatives in NYC
BROOKLYN | MANHATTAN | ONLINE ACROSS NY STATE
Our specialties
We help queer creatives bring themselves more fully into the world.
Our clients are ambitious people who feel drained by fitting themselves into spaces, relationships, and careers that aren’t designed for them.
We help you build a meaningful life on your own terms by clarifying what you truly desire, taking values-aligned risks, and trying new things to see what’s possible.
-
We work with all types of trauma - attachment trauma, complex trauma, single-event trauma, and so forth. We use evidence-based interventions that offer a balance of structure, open processing, and somatic awareness.
-
Anxiety and OCD are fueled by cycles of avoidance. We help you slowly break these cycles with a mix of evidence based approaches like ACT and ERP/exposure therapy to help you move toward what matters most, even when it feels scary.
-
We work with queer and trans clients who are navigating internalized shame, family ruptures, gender exploration, and the ongoing stress of existing in a world that wasn't built for you.
-
Relationships are often a place where old patterns clash with current desires for connection. We help you navigate the fear of vulnerability, practice speaking honestly about what you need, and find people and communities that are truly affirming.
-
Creative work requires visibility, vulnerability, and truth-telling. We work with artists, performers, musicians, and writers who are struggling with perfectionism, fear of failure, comparison; or who want to create something from their pain but don’t know where to start.
Our process
Deepen your relationship to self
Experiment with new ways of living
Move confidently toward what matters most
Our methods
We emphasize experiential modalities, offering you a chance to learn by doing, feeling, and practicing rather than just talking.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories that still interfering with your life. Rather than talking through what happened, EMDR uses the body, sensory cues, and visualization to let the brain develop more adaptive response to what happened. It's one of the most researched trauma treatments available.
-
IFS is a model of therapy based on the idea that you’re made up of different “parts”, each with its own perspective, feelings, and role. IFS helps you deeply understand these parts and get to know your internal world in a way that can ease self judgment and change stuck patterns. It’s a beautiful mix of structured and exploratory - and we work only at the pace your system allows.
-
KAP combines the neurological effects of ketamine with the relational depth of psychotherapy to create conditions for insight and change that can be hard to access through talk therapy alone. It's particularly useful for treatment-resistant depression, trauma, and anxiety. These are longer in-person sessions of 3-4 hours that include preparation, dosing, journeying, and integration. We work with trusted queer-affirming prescribers to support you through every stage of the process.
-
We blend Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create a flexible, trauma-informed, values-based approach to treating OCD and anxiety. We focus on gradually confronting whatever scary or uncomfortable situations you’d like to face that will help you live more freely and fully, not just to follow a treatment protocol.
-
ACT is an experiential, behavioral, and values-based approach to therapy that focuses less on eliminating difficult thoughts and feelings and more on changing your relationship to them. The goal is to increase your psychological flexibility so you can build a life that feels meaningful and aligned with what actually matters to you. It's practical, evidence-based, and works well alongside other modalities.
-
We believe art, music, writing, somatic experience, and community are essential components of mental health, and we consistently seek ways to integrate these elements into our approach. Somatic therapy is focused on connecting with the body as a source of wisdom and healing, and creative practices allow for self expression beyond words. This is particularly well-suited for performers, artists, and anyone who processes the world more through felt experience than through language.
